  • What is the Ferrum One?

The Ferrum One is a high-speed USB input device designed for supported DMA setups. It allows compatible mice and keyboards to pass through the device while supporting significantly higher polling rates than standard ESP32-based solutions.
  • What is the difference between Ferrum One and MAKCU?

The main difference is performance and hardware design. MAKCU is based on dual ESP32-S3 hardware and supports up to 1,000Hz polling, while the Ferrum One is designed for high-speed USB operation and supports polling rates up to 8,000Hz.
  • Is Ferrum One better than MAKCU?

Ferrum One is the higher-performance option, offering a much higher maximum polling rate and a more premium USB implementation. MAKCU remains a great lower-cost option for users who do not need high-polling mouse support.
  • Does Ferrum One support 8,000Hz mice?

Yes. Ferrum One supports polling rates up to 8,000Hz with compatible peripherals and supported software.
  • Does Ferrum One support keyboards?

Yes. Ferrum One supports compatible USB keyboards in addition to mouse input, making it suitable for a wide range of supported setups.
  • Does Ferrum One require flashing?

No initial firmware flashing is required. Ferrum One ships pre-flashed and ready for supported setups. Firmware can still be updated later when new versions become available.
  • Do I need to install drivers?

Ferrum One is designed to operate as an external USB input device without requiring special peripheral drivers for normal use. Some supported software may still require its own setup or configuration.
  • Will my current mouse work with Ferrum One?

Most standard USB mice should work, but compatibility can vary depending on the mouse, polling rate, firmware version, and software being used. For very high polling rates such as 4,000Hz or 8,000Hz, your mouse must also support that polling rate.
  • Can I use Ferrum One instead of MAKCU?

Yes, when supported by the software you are using. Ferrum One fills the same general role as a MAKCU while offering higher polling capability and upgraded USB hardware.
  • Do you help with installation?

Yes. Free setup assistance is provided through our Discord support team.
  • When will pre-orders ship?

Ferrum One pre-orders are currently expected to begin shipping around October 15 - 20. Tracking details will be emailed once your order ships.
  • What are your shipping and delivery times?

All DMA hardware ships from the United States. Once inventory is available, orders typically ship within 0–1 business days. Delivery times depend on the shipping method and destination selected at checkout.
